Kim Jones’ Dior is HOT, like hot hot! From collaborations with cool California-brand Erl, to referencing archival Dior couture womenswear for his menswear designs, Jones is one of the most creative names in mens fashion at the moment and his fall 2023 show for the brand proved that he is not slowing down. The show’s opening outfit was a paired-back cream short set featuring an overcoat, sheer tank and beige rain boots, a reflection of the collection’s relatively neutral color pallet. As has been a theme in many of Kim Jones’ collections for Dior Men, several pieces in the show were direct references from Christian Dior’s 1940s and 1950s couture gowns. Looks two and four specifically featured embroidery from a cream couture dress created in the '50s. Silhouettes throughout the collection were generally more relaxed – suits featured loose fitting trousers, outerwear offerings were boxy in style and knits were oversized. While not bright and flashy like some of his previous work, this collection still presented menswear lovers and customers with more than a few pieces worth copping - also, the men's skirt is clearly a thing.
