Well to start, I am a southern boy turned New Yorker who has had a love of fashion and design since the cradle. While growing up in Virginia, many people around me did not necessarily understand my infatuation with fashion and the world of style. However, my parents (fortunately) allowed me to indulge in my interest. For instance, on Saturday mornings, instead of watching weekend cartoons, I had my alarm set to tune into E!, regularly watching shows like Fashion File and Videofashion to check out the latest collections. I also had an affinity for design and culture and regularly tuned into HGTV and Travel Channel programming, observing that there was a larger and more dynamic world out there compared to my life in Virginia Beach at the time. While I spent many years trying to hide my interests (a black boy who knew more about designers than professional athletes didn’t make you popular in the early 2000s), I was able to put my talents to use through different extracurricular activities while a student at Morehouse College. Subsequently, the emergence of social media allowed me to share my passions and interests with an audience outside of my direct friend circle. As such (and after much reflection and a few rounds of therapy), I have decided to tap in to my nine-year-old self and lean fully into my calling – helping my audience tap into their inner selves (who they are and who they [want to] show up as in the world), and subsequently expressing a clarity of vision outwardly through their style aesthetic.

My intention with this website, no matter the client, the product, the assignment or the collaboration is that the work is a consistent reflection of my highest inner self – that I can serve as a collaborator, helping my readers, audience and clients tap into their highest style potential and ultimately align and translate their internal being with how they adorn themselves and their spaces outwardly.

I have been a student of fashion and design since childhood. While I have worked in corporate America for many years, I have also built a social media presence focusing on fashion, sneaker collecting, design and lifestyle content, as well as previously serving as fashion editor for the Quintessential Gentleman, a publication geared toward showcasing black and brown male excellence.

As Tom Ford is my personal menswear hero, my aesthetic reflects that of a cultured, professional urbanite. While it doesn’t hurt to keep up with trends, my take on style is classic and streamlined with a focus on quality and tailoring. Despite my generally classic point of view, I feel that fashion should be fun and I also believe in incorporating statement pieces into my wardrobe. The thread starting with my fashion sense continues through my general take on design and entertaining. While I do believe in intentionally curating a wardrobe, room or event at a high level, I maintain that stylish living can also be accessible and should not be overly complicated or contrived.
